Using our engineering knowledge and experience Supreme Hoists and Atrium lift Co. were approached to build a Hedge Trimmer. The project was a challenging project using all the knowledge obtained from various sectors of the company.
The conversions to date have been done on John Deere tractors, but most brands of tractors are capable of conversion.
The conversion essentially consists of strengthening tractor chassis for rear mounting of medium to large crane. Amour proofing the cab, mounting of crane and cutter head to tractor.
The cutter head consists of a rectangular beam with 4 x 850 mm diameter saw blades hydraulically driven. The Cutter head has a wrist like movement allowing the driver to face cut, topping and cut 90 degree corners.
The crane and cutter head is hydraulically controlled by either joystick control or by lever action controls.
Hydraulically the tractor conversion is a very challenging aspect of the project as attention to the smallest detail has to be considered when choosing pumps and motors relating to operating pressures and system operating requirements.
Supreme Hoist and Atrium Lift Co tractor conversions have left the factory commenced cutting and have continued to do so without stopping. This has been achieved by eliminating as many risks as possible, applying good sound engineering and design, producing a machine that continues to earn consistently with a minimum of breakdown
